About the Adriatic

The adriatic coastline is one of the most attractive oasis in the warm and quiet south-east nook of Europe, especially for the enthusiastic ones who dream about the mediterranean and wish to leave a salty taste in the mouth or feel roughness of berth..

Being streched between the two ancient Mediterranean civilization: Greece and Rome, Croatia has a feature not only in the sense that as a country it is different from other countries, but also because the contrasts within her boundaries: the mild Mediterranean climate of the coastal belt changes to a moderete continental one in the hiterland. Even today you can find many stone monuments, dispersed along the coast of 1.185 islands, which witness about cultural, maritime, architectural tradition…

Whilst almost sleepy during winter months, in summer the islands of Croatia begin to awaken and viewed from above, make the net of numerous traces of small and big boats which seek for a lonely cove by day and are in search for having a great time by night.

Almost every boater who choose the Adriatic as a holiday destination can find anything he wishes for, as the clearest of Europe hugs the 5.835 km long coastline and 4.059 km of insular coast. Most of 67 inhabited islands offer organized marinas with all necessary facilities and closeness of beautiful small towns, which are centers of tourist activities from June to September.

Weather

On every yacht you will find nautical guides of the Adriatic to choose safe ports according to the weather conditions. There are three most usual winds blowing on this side of the Adriatic:

BURA - NE wind, rough sea, rainy weather
JUGO - SE wind, rough sea, rainy weather
MAESTRAL - NW wind, usualy in summer season, good for sailing
You can get weather forecast on every ACI marina for three days in advance, or on channel 69 (VHF) each hour in Croatian, English, German and Italian.

Upon your arrival to marina you should come to our office to settle all the paperwork. The required documents are: Passport, charter contract, sailing boat licence inclusive of VHF operator licence and crew list with names of all crew members.

Security deposit is payable in cash, VISA, American Express.
After the formalities are taken care of we will take you to the yacht, answer any questions you might have and go hrough the inventory list of the boat with you and help you get familiar with her.

We can allso provide for you food, drinks…etc, transfers and organize diving, rafting,…etc.
